A change in the backroom structure of the full factory supported Kawasaki Racing Team in 2012 means that not only will there be much more direct control from KHI in Japan, but the team’s European base also moves to Spain.

With the former full factory Supersport FIM World Championship team having been promoted to SBK racing in 2012 the natural successors have come from within the Kawasaki family. The newly titled Kawasaki DeltaFin team takes over the mantle of the factory supported team in 2012 and will be based in Italy.

The Pedercini team is an ‘old family firm’ with Father Donato starting the team in 1993, initially in support of son Lucio in MotoGP, and then in WSBK racing. Since 2006, when Lucio retired with two Italian Superbike Championships on his CV, the Pedercini team has been a WSBK privateer force in its own right.
