In 2009 Joan Lascorz went from a possible champion to one of the real championship favourites. This year Joan is nothing short of a complete competitor, a rider that every other potential champion will have to beat before even thinking about taking the crown.

Starting out in major races on a 125cc GP-style machine in the Spanish Championship, Lascorz made his first real impression on the public at large in the CEV Supersport Championship, finishing sixth in 2005.
He also took his first taste of WSS race action in 2005, at Imola, and one year later he returned to the same venue for another ride. Having finished fourth in the Spanish CEV championship in 2006, it was time for an upward change of gear.
His real WSS interest began in 2007, taking one podium finish at the Vallelunga circuit in Italy, during a full-on series that placed 18th overall, mainly due to a few ill-timed retirements. He continued to run in his domestic Supersport series as well, and scored two wins along the way.
In 2008, Joan was a long time WSS series leader, despite his privateer status, and even as the factory riders increased their development pace Lascorz continued to impress. He was ranked fifth overall at the end of the year, having taken a win at his home round in Valencia, and four podiums in total.
In 2009 Lascorz really came of age, racing while also developing the new Ninja ZX-6R’s on track specification, and doing a solid job of both throughout. When the machine was fully developed, his first Kawasaki win came along in France, at Magny-Cours.
In 2010, his expectation is to challenge all the way for the title and score race wins on an even more highly developed Ninja ZX-6R racebike.
