Although a native of the sandy wastes of the Flemish-speaking northern half of Belgium, Jeremy discovered the delights of racing on all surfaces at an early age as he spent his formative years racing the 80cc class in France against the likes of Christophe Pourcel and Marvin Musquin because of restrictive legislation in his homeland.

The experience proved invaluable as “The Jerre” raced all over Europe on many different type of tracks during the European MX2 Championship in 2006.

After a highly commendable fifth place in the final reckoning, Jeremy was integrated in the high profile junior team run by former GP rider Kees van der Ven for his entry to the world championship the following season.

The first of two consecutive national titles and world ranking 16th were simply the first honours in a dramatic season which ended with Jeremy chosen to represent his country at the Motocross of Nations, held that year in the United States, where he played his part in taking Belgium to the podium.

Further solid advances in 2008, eighth in the world with top ten scores in two-thirds of the races and another trip to the podium in the Motocross of Nations, were combined with his first GP podium, but 2009 was a year of dire contrasts.

A thrilling last lap victory in the Spanish MX2 GP was offset by several DNFs due to technical defects after he had been switched to a different team and the resultant loss of confidence started to take its toll, the season eventually brought to a premature close by minor injuries.

But Kawasaki Motors Europe and Team CLS could see through the problems he had encountered, reacting quickly to snap up this talented 20 year old for their exciting new collaboration with Pro Circuit which should ensure Jeremy’s return to the limelight.

Jeremy Van Horebeek: “It’s great to be part of Kawasaki’s involvement in the MX2 World Championship, and the team’s partnership with Pro Circuit underlines my belief that we have the best bike available. I won my first GP last season and feel sure that I will be able to add more successes this year. Working alongside Harry Nolte and the rest of the crew at Team CLS Pro Circuit has restored my confidence and I am sure we will be able to celebrate many podiums together.”
